Sarah McCulloch

Sarah McCulloch is a Theology student who has long been interested in mutual credit systems. She started to become interested in Local Exchange Trading Schemes in 2007 while living in Bradford. She has been trying to start a Manchester LETS since 2008, and is deeply relieved that it has finally happened.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys blogging, talking about drug policy, and pretending she's a productive human being.
Josie is one of those people who loiters around the edges of various social change movements, dipping in and out when something particularly annoys her. She once voted for a Lib Dem and is very ashamed of it. She is very organised but also forgetful, and dreams of the day that milk and fruit juice are delivered to her house on tap.
Josie can often be found on a bus, or trying to work out which bus she should be getting on next.
Rob has been living on the Redbricks in Hulme for 12 years. He spent around 12 years involved in developing LETS in the 90s and 00s, and trained with Michael Linton, the original designer of the LETSystem. He currently has a full time job in the 3rd Sector in wellbeing, and administrates http://ManchesterPermaculture.Net in his spare time.
Helen is a postgraduate Bioinformatics student, who believes that economic power should belong to the people, not the government, banks or massive corporations. She is a strong advocate of local shopping and trading, and can often be found at markets, wandering around holding strange vegetables and looking dazed and confused.
Helen campaigns against domestic violence and economic abuse, and for the rights of women and disabled people. When she is not swearing at computers, Helen enjoys playing musical instruments with her daughter, and has even been spotted at a Tangerine Dream concert.
Robin enjoys working:
- to improve the operational efficiency of markets
- to combat social and other forms of deprivation
- to exploit the potential of information technology
- to apply academic theory in a practical context
- to encourage business cooperation and collaboration
- to address international inequality and institutional development
