See below some links to other organisations in Manchester that promote community and sustainability. We are actively looking for broad community projects to work with, so email info@manchesterlets.org if you have one in mind!
* Action for Sustainable Living is a dynamic charity to engage people on lifestyle changes relating to sustainable living topics such as: recycling, waste, clothing, energy, fair-trade, gardening, holidays, household, local food, transport and more. AfSL aims to help people to live more sustainably by focusing on the small steps we can each take in our daily lives towards achieving bigger changes in the wider world.
* Manchester Mule is a Manchester based non-profit independent media project, looking to promote social justice by getting out the news and views you won’t find elsewhere, from the rainy city and beyond!
* I Bike MCR is a group of cyclists that basically love to ride. We don't do this for a job, nor do we get any funding other than bits to pay for equipment etc. for our events. We organise for ourselves, for each other and by organising stuff we want to do we hope that others who like what they see will join us and organise with us stuff that they like to do too.
* Manchester Social Centre want to create a hub for community activity, enabling existing groups to hold meetings and events at low cost, share resources and form links with other groups, and providing an accessible means for others to become involved with these groups.
* Environment Network 4 Manchester is a collective of groups and organisations working to improve the environment of Manchester, towards the development of a truly sustainable city.
* Manchester GreenCycle is a community of environmentally responsible local people who give their unwanted and reusable items to other members. This extends the life of the item, and prevents it from going to landfill while reducing the carbon footprint which contributes to global warming.
* Association of Manchester Allotment Societies is the umbrella organisation for the 30 Manchester allotment societies. Amas looks after the interests of all 2,000 Manchester plotholders, and negotiates with the council on their behalf, and handles applications for new allotments.
